The Story Behind the Story

When this blog started, I was a junior at Washington State University . I majored in Applied Intercultural Communication and minored in music on piano and horn. I kept this blog while studying abroad at the University of Ghana in Legon for a semester, taking courses and conducting an ethnographic research study on Ghanaian cultural norms for my honors thesis. I did not end up writing my thesis on ethnography – partially because I left my research in Africa when I came home. Oops.

After returning to the US and completing my bachelor’s degree obtained my graduate degree at the University of Denver. I completed my MA in International Development in 2013 and wrote most of my papers on Ghana and Burkina Faso. I someday plan to finish this blog with the grand stories of adventure… stay tuned!

I especially like your on going battles with the cockroaches. Reminds me of the ones in Germany. I love violent thunderstorms and the way you dicribe them makes me wish I could have been there.
